Romantic Chateau and domaine in the Loire Valley

ROMANTIC CHATEAU AND DOMAINE IN THE LOIRE VALLEY

The Chateau de Frileuse was designed and constructed in the Louis XIII style and was renovated in the early nineteenth century by Admiral de Cande. The castle is surrounded by uncommonly lush, green land : 70
acres of parks and forest, near Loire rivers. Although the surroundings of Frileuse enjoy absolute peace and tranquility and are at quite a distance from more intensely travelled roads, the castle is only ten minutes from Blois and near (less than half an hour) several famous castles of Loire valley : Chambord, Amboise, Chenonceau, Cheverny.
The owners of Frileuse, Nicolas de Barry and his wife  renovated the building in 2003, while maintaining the original style and wall colors.
All rooms have been renovated respecting the style of a XIXth century residence, and the original flowered and Jouy wallpaper has been restored. The pieces of furniture are of the period, and bathrooms with traditional bath-tubs. All of the beds are new. The walls are decorated with Andrée Simon (1891-1981) paintings.
